National City, CA: Major Injury Traffic Accident on Interstate 5
1 Seriously Injured in National City Crash on Interstate 5 near Plaza Boulevard Off-Ramp
National City, California (February 15, 2021) – One person was seriously injured Sunday evening in a traffic accident in National City, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The crash, which was reported at around 6:44 p.m. Sunday, February 14, happened on Interstate 5, just south of the Plaza Boulevard exit, the CHP report states.
According to the CHP report, a silver-colored 4-door sedan collided with a white Mazda for undetermined reasons in the northbound lane of Interstate 5.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found one person suffering from major injuries. The patient was then transported to a hospital for treatment.
The name and condition of the victim were not immediately disclosed.
The interstate was closed for nearly two hours while the authorities conduct an investigation.
