Driver Hurt in Napa Car Accident at Silverado Trail and Taylor Street
Napa, California (May 17, 2019) –A driver was hurt in an alleged DUI collision in Napa on Wednesday night.
The multi-vehicle accident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. May 15, in the area of Silverado Trail and Taylor Street.
The accident happened when 39-year-old Jacob Diedrich Perlas who was driving near the intersection hit three other cars for unknown reasons.
A motorist in one of the cars struck by Perlas suffered injuries following the wreck. The victim was attended to by the paramedics who arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. Meanwhile, the extent of the injuries suffered, and the identity of the victim has not yet been released.
The police confirmed that Perlas was not initially responsive when he was found in his vehicle. He was later transported Queen of the Valley Medical Center for medical clearance. Perlas was driving under the influence at the time of the collision.
The police arrested Perlas and booked into Napa County jail where he was charged for an offence charge of driving under the influence and causing injury.
The crash is still under an active investigation.
