62-Year-Old Man Injured in Mountain View Pedestrian Accident at South 45th Street and Imperial Avenue

Mountain View, California (September 2, 2020) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening at an intersection in Mountain View, according to authorities.
The pedestrian accident occurred just after 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, at the intersection of South 45th Street and Imperial Avenue.
According to the authorities, the pedestrian, a 62-year-old man, was walking eastbound across Imperial Avenue against a red light when he was hit by a Nissan Rogue SUV that was attempting to make a left turn from Imperial Avenue onto 45th Street.
Pedestrian Hit by Car in Mountain View
The man sustained a fractured right knee and was transported to UCSD Medical Center for treatment. His name and current condition were not disclosed.
The driver of the SUV, a 53-year-old woman, stopped at the scene and was cooperative, authorities said.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
