Rider Dies in Phelan Motorcycle Accident on Highway 138 near Hess Road Sunday
Phelan, California (July 28, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed Sunday morning in a traffic crash in Phelan, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash, which was reported at about 10:51 a.m., happened on Highway 138 near Hess Road and involved a motorcycle and a van.
First responders arrived at the crash site, and they found a black motorcycle down in the no.1 lane along the shoulder and a white older-model Dodge van with extensive damage to the front passenger side.
The motorcyclist was down in the roadway near the bike.

The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
The van driver was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center as a precaution.
No other information was immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Division.
