Motorcyclist Killed in Solo Crash on Highway 1 in Monterey
Man Killed in Monterey Motorcycle Accident on Highway 1 near Monterey-Salinas Highway overpass

Monterey, California (September 30, 2020) – A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday evening in a traffic accident in Monterey, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The deadly crash happened at around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, September 29 on Highway 1, just south of the Monterey-Salinas Highway overpass.
As per the CHP report, a 40-year-old Monterey man was riding a 2011 Ducati 848 Evo northbound on Highway 1 at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and lost control of the bike.
Witnesses told the CHP that the motorcyclist was traveling at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour prior to the crash.
The rider was thrown off the bike and died at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation by the CHP.
