Motorcyclist Killed, Passenger Injured in Head-On Crash on Highway 132 in Modesto

Modesto, California (July 4, 2021) – A motorcyclist and their passenger was seriously injured Friday night in a head-on collision east of Modesto, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash occurred shortly before 9:45 p.m. Friday, July 2, on Highway 132, just west of Albers Road.

The CHP said a 2014 GMC was traveling westbound on Highway 132 when it drifted into the eastbound lanes to pass slower traffic.

For an unknown reason, the GMC collided head-on with an oncoming Harley Davidson, driven by a 50-year-old Waterford man.

The motorcyclist and his passenger, a 45-year-old Waterford woman, were thrown off the bike upon the impact. The man was pronounced dead at the scene while the woman was transported to Memorial Medical Center with major injuries. Their names have not been disclosed.

The driver of the GMC, identified as Courtney Green, 26, of Modesto, sustained minor injuries in the crash and was not arrested.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
