Motorcyclist Killed in Airport Road Crash in Redding
86-Year-Old Man Dies in Redding Motorcycle Accident on Airport Road at Charlanne Drive
Redding, California (August 24, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed Friday morning in a collision with a pickup truck in south Redding, authorities said.
The fatal accident happened just before noon Friday, August 23 at Airport Road, just north of Charlanne Drive.
Police said the motorcyclist, an 86-year-old man, collided with a Ford pickup truck on Airport Road. The impact caused the motorcycle to catch fire.
The 86-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
A 55-year-old man, who was the driver of the pickup truck, was transported to Mercy Medical Center for precautionary reasons.
Both lanes of Airport Road were closed following the crash.
The CHP is investigating the incident.
