Moreno Valley, California (December 30, 2020) – One person was killed late Tuesday night in a single-vehicle traffic accident in Moreno Valley, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The deadly crash happened at around 11:38 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, at the intersection of Heacock Street and John F. Kennedy Drive.
As per the release, a light-colored Chevrolet Camaro was heading northbound on Heacock Street at a high rate of speed when, for undetermined reasons, it drifted off the roadway and crashed into a block wall.
The Camaro caught fire after the impact.
Deadly Solo-Car Crash in Moreno Valley Tuesday
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and extricated the driver from the burning vehicle. The driver, only identified as a male victim, later succumbed to his injuries. His name was withheld pending notification of his relatives.
Police closed part of Heacock Street for nearly six hours as they investigated the scene. It is undetermined if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
