Man Killed in Monterey County Pedestrian Crash on Salinas Road near Elkhorn Road
Monterey County, California (June 17, 2019) – A man was killed in an auto-pedestrian hit-and-run collision Saturday night in Monterey County, according to the CHP.
The accident happened at about 10:20 p.m. June 15, on Salinas Road just north of Elkhorn Road.
CHP said a man was hit by a driver who fled the scene.

The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities were able to trace and locate the driver involved in the hit-and-run. The suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of hit-and-run, vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI causing bodily injury.
The crash is under investigation.
Many pedestrians are hurt and several others killed in accidents in California every year.
