3 Kids Hurt in Montara Head-On Accident on Highway 1
Montara, California (May 26, 2019) – 14-year-old and two-16-year-old boys were hospitalized after being involved in a head-on-crash in Montara Friday afternoon.
The collision, which was reported at around 2:45 p.m. May 24, occurred on Highway near 1 Devil’s Slide.
The accident happened when a BMW driven carelessly on the highway failed to stop after it was pulled over by the sheriff’s deputies. The BMW ended up colliding head-on with a Toyota after leading the police into a chase.
The driver of the car, a 14-year-old boy from San Francisco and his passengers; the two 16-year-old male passengers were injured in the collision. All three victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
It was not clear whether or not the Toyota driver was hurt in the crash.
The police found a significant cache stolen property after searching for the BMW.At least three owners of the properties had been identified by Friday, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s spokeswoman.
All the three suspects were arrested and booked into San Mateo County Juvenile Hall where they may be charged with vehicle burglary, conspiracy, evading a police officer and possession of burglary tools.
No further details regarding the scene have been released to this time.
