Molly Burgess Dies in Sonora Pedestrian Accident on Highway 49 near O’Hara Drive

Sonora, California (March 26, 2021) – Lisa Dianne Hunt, 67, of Columbia, was arrested following a hit-and-run accident that left a 17-year-old Sonora girl dead late last month in Sonora, authorities said.
The deadly accident occurred just after 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 28, on Highway 49 near O’Hara Drive.
Police said Burgess was found in a ditch after he was reportedly hit by a vehicle.
Burgess was pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving measures performed by responding paramedics.
On Thursday, Hunt was arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, felony hit-and-run, destroying/concealing evidence and providing false information to an officer.
No other details were immediately provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
