Moreno Valley Woman Killed in Highway 33 Collision near Modesto
Modesto, California (January 10, 2020) – A 20-year-old woman died when she crashed her car head-on into a big rig Thursday afternoon near Modesto, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The Moreno Valley woman was driving a Hyundai in the northbound lanes of Highway 33 behind a big rig at around 12:10 p.m. when she attempted to pass the tractor-trailer.
The woman crossed the broken yellow center line into the southbound lanes, where she collided head-on into another big rig heading southbound just north of West Stanislaus Road. The big rig that the woman was passing was also involved in the crash.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Both big rig drivers were not hurt.
