4 Woman Hurt in Modesto Multi-Vehicle Accident at Oakdale Road and Claratina Avenue
Modesto, California (August 1, 2020) – According to a California Highway Patrol report, a traffic accident involving three vehicles at an intersection in northeast Modesto, Tuesday afternoon, injured four victims.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred at approximately 1:40 p.m. at the intersection of Oakdale Road and Claratina Avenue.
The accident happened when a car traveling eastbound on Claratina Avenue failed to yield after it made a left turn onto Oakdale Road. The vehicle then crashed with a semi-truck that was heading northbound on Oakdale Road
The initial report indicated that the semi-truck T-boned the red sedan before crashing into a black Nissan Altima upon the impact.
Officials said each car was occupied by an adult female motorist and an adult female passenger.
Firefighters responded at the scene and extricated a woman who was trapped inside her vehicle.
Major Injury Modesto Traffic Collision at Oakdale Road and Claratina Avenue
The red sedan operator sustained major injuries while her passenger survived with moderate to major injuries in the wreck.
Both the Nissan occupants, who sustained minor injuries, were treated at the scene and released.
There were no other victims injured, including the truck driver.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
