San Diego, California (June 26, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed early Saturday morning in a traffic collision in the Mission Bay area of San Diego, according to police.

The deadly crash happened at around 1:15 a.m. on East Mission Drive near Playa Pacifica Park.

Police said a 33-year-old man was riding a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle southbound on East Mission Drive when he lost control and fell into the northbound lane, where he was hit by an oncoming Toyota Camry, driven by a 38-year-old man.

Motorcyclist Killed in Mission Bay Crash

The motorcyclist, whose name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
