Minh Tran ID’d as Man Killed in Oceanside Pedestrian Crash at Douglas Drive and Mission Avenue
Oceanside, California (December 19, 2019) – The man who was killed in a crash involving a suspected hit-and-run driver on Tuesday night in Oceanside has been identified as Minh Tran, 65, according to a local news source.
The crash took place just after 10:15 p.m. on December 17, in the area of Douglas Drive and Mission Avenue.
Authorities said a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Mission Avenue when it failed to stop for a red light and collided with a Ford F-150 pickup heading north on Douglas Drive.
The driver of the Chevrolet then fled the scene eastbound on Mission Avenue and struck Tran, who was in the crosswalk. Tran was dragged nearly 150 feet down the street.
The driver again left the scene traveling on Mission Avenue then got out of the vehicle along with a passenger at Rancho Del Oro and ran on foot.

Tran was pronounced deceased at the scene.
