Millbrae, California (March 11, 2021) – A man riding an electric wheelchair was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Millbrae, according to a local news source.

The deadly accident happened at around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, in the 700 block of El Camino Real.

Authorities said a 63-year-old Millbrae man was riding a motorized wheelchair westbound across El Camino Real inside a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a Nissan.

Paramedics responded to the scene and declared the man dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and was cooperative, police said. Neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the accident.
