59-Year-Old Mike Yanis ID’d as Bicyclist Killed in Long Beach Crash on Redondo Avenue near 11th Street
Long Beach, California (September 30, 2019) – The bicyclist who was killed in an accident involving two vehicles early Thursday morning in Long Beach has been identified as Mike Yanis, 59, according to the police.
The crash took place at around 6:30 a.m. September 26, on Redondo Avenue just south of 11th Street.
Long Beach police said Yanis riding across Redondo Avenue heading east when he was hit by a southbound mid size sports utility vehicle. The impact threw Yanis into the northbound lane of traffic and was hit by another motorist.

Yanis was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The two drivers who hit the victim reportedly stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
