Mike Rivera-Aguilar Injured in Fatal Multi-Car Accident on 15 Freeway in Temecula
Mike Rivera-Aguilar Among 3 Injured in Temecula Crash on Interstate 15 Freeway near Rancho California Road

Temecula, California (June 5, 2019) – One of three people who were injured Tuesday morning in a traffic accident that also left one person dead in Temecula has been identified as Mike Rivera-Aguilar, 38.
The fatal crash happened at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 4 on Interstate 15 Freeway near Rancho California Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Javier Caldera, 25, of Auburn, Washington, was traveling on the southbound Interstate 15 Freeway at a high rate of speed when it crashed into a 2015 Nissan Altima operated by Janet Genao, 44, of Murrieta.
The force of the impact created a chain reaction effect that involved a Chevrolet S-10 Pickup truck, a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and a 2017 Tesla Model S and a 2017 Toyota Camry. As a result of the crash, the Chevrolet S-10 Pickup truck drifted off the freeway and crashed into a parking structure near Temecula City Hall.
Janet Genao Identified as Victim of Fatal Alleged DUI Crash
Genao was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rivera-Aguilar, who was the driver of the Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, was taken to a hospital with major injuries. Two other people, a 55-year-old Irvine man in the Tesla Model S and a 35-year-old man of Brandon, Mississippi, sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital.
A 50-year-old El Cajon man in the Toyota Camry escaped uninjured.
Caldera was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He was not injured in the crash.
