Modesto, California (April 1, 2019) – Michel Medina, 29, of Modesto was transported to a hospital with major injuries following a car accident involving an alleged DUI driver in Modesto on Sunday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on Grayson Road near Vivian Road at about 1:30 p.m. March 31.

CHP said a 1994 Mazda B4000 was traveling northbound on Vivian Road when the driver failed to stop for a stop sign and slammed into the driver’s side of a 2008 Saturn Outlook that was westbound on Grayson Road. The impact caused the Mazda to overturn while the Saturn traveled off the side of the roadway and slammed into a metal fence.

Medina was the driver of the Saturn. She was taken to Turlock Emanuel Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. Her two boys were also hospitalized with minor injuries.

The five occupants of the Mazda were also hospitalized for their injuries.

The driver of the Mazda was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The crash is under investigation.
