Sonoma Valley, California (January 5, 2021) – Michael Williams, 60, of Santa Rosa, has been identified as the person who was injured in a two-vehicle accident that killed two women on Monday morning in Sonoma Valley, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened at about 8:20 a.m., on January 4, on Highway 12, east of Oakmont Drive.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Nissan Sentra, driven by Alondra Bandt Valero, 21, of Sonoma, was headed westbound on Highway 12 while a Chevrolet truck, operated by Williams, was traveling on the eastbound side of the highway.

Unfortunately, Valero lost control on a curve and crossed into the opposite lane, where it collided with the Chevrolet. The front of the Chevrolet crashed into the right side of the Nissan.

Michael Williams Injured in Crash on Highway 12

Sadly, Valero and her mother, a 44-year-old woman from Sonoma, were pronounced dead at the crash site.

Williams sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
