Michael Wayne Towson ID’d as Driver Killed in Jamul Car Accident on Highway 94 near Lyons Valley Road

Jamul, California (May 1, 2019) – The driver who was killed Saturday morning in a traffic accident in Jamul has been identified as Michael Wayne Towson, 57, of Lakeside, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office.
The tragic accident happened at around 6:35 a.m. Saturday, April 27 on Highway 94, just south of Lyons Valley Road.
Authorities said Towson was driving eastbound on Highway 94 when he failed to navigate a curve in the road and his vehicle collided head-on with another car.

Towson was transported to the Emergency Department of Sharp Memorial Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
