Michael Owens ID’d as Man Killed in Shingletown Head-On Crash on Highway 44 and Airport Way
Shingletown, California (March 26, 2019) – Police have identified the person killed in a head-on crash on Saturday afternoon in Shingletown as Michael Tyler Owens, 29, of Shingletown, as per a local news source.
The deadly incident took place at about 12:40 p.m. March 23, on eastbound Highway 44 and Airport Way.
Police said a Volkswagen Jetta was westbound on Highway 44 when the driver crossed over into the opposing traffic and collided head-on with a Ford Explorer.
Michael Owens Killed in Shingletown Car Crash
Owens was a passenger in the Jetta and died at the scene of the crash.
Both drivers sustained minor to moderate injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment. A 6-year-old passenger in the Ford was treated for minor injuries.
No further details on the crash were immediately released.
The crash remains under investigation.
