Michael Desir Suffers Major Injuries in Petaluma Car Accident on Adobe Road near Sonoma Mountain Road
Petaluma, California (August 28, 2020) – Michael Desir, 34, of Petaluma, has been identified as the driver who was seriously injured Tuesday morning in an alleged DUI crash that also left another driver dead in Petaluma.
The deadly crash happened at about 5:40 a.m.Tuesday, August 25, on Adobe Road near Sonoma Mountain Road.
Authorities said a Toyota Camry, driven by Brian Chastain, 29, of Napa, was heading westbound on Adobe Road when, for unknown reasons, it swerved into the opposite lane and collided head-on with an eastbound Ford C-Max driven by Desir.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated Desir, who was pinned inside his vehicle.
Both Desir and Chastain were hospitalized at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries sustained in the wreck. Sadly, Chastain died two days later while undergoing treatment.
Chastain was found to be under the influence of drugs when the accident happened. At first, he was charged with felony DUI causing injury.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
