Michael Clugston ID’d as Innocent Driver Killed in Garden Grove Car Crash at Euclid Street and Orangewood Avenue
Garden Grove, California (March 13, 2021) – Michael Clugston, 39, of Anaheim, was among three people who were killed after a police chase ended in a traffic accident early Friday morning in Garden Grove.
The incident began at around 2:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, when a police officer spotted a Dodge Ram truck traveling at a high rate of speed through a parking lot and then sped onto the street.
The officer activated their lights and sirens and followed the pickup truck.
As the pickup truck approached the intersection of Euclid Street and Orangewood Avenue, it slammed into a car driven by Clugston.
After the impact, the pickup truck crashed through a block wall and hit a water hydrant before rolling into a pool at a home while the car overturned and landed onto the block wall.

Clugston was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Two occupants of the pickup truck, Joseph Mendoza, 28, and Sal Fernandez, 34, were pronounced dead at the scene.
No further details were about the crash were immediately provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
