Michael Bradfute Killed in Big Rig Accident on Highway 99
Michael Bradfute Identified as 42-Year-Old Modesto Man Killed in Merced Crash on Highway 99 near V Street
Merced, California (June 22, 2021) – Michael Bradfute, 42, of Modesto, has been identified as the man who was killed in a big rig accident on Wednesday night in Merced, according to the Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office.
The deadly accident transpired at about 10:40 p.m., on June 16, on Highway 99, south of V Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2021 Mazda CX-5, driven by Bradfute, crashed into the back of a big rig, driven by a 52-year-old Robert Ondracek, of Fresno, for undetermined reasons near a road construction area.
Sadly, Bradfute was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ondracek was not injured in the accident.
It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
