Man Seriously Injured in Merced County Hit-and-Run Crash at State Route 140 and Schilling Road
Merced County, California (April 1, 2021) – A male pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday night at an intersection in Merced County, according to a local news source.
At about 8:51 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, the California Highway Patrol officers responded to the accident at the intersection of State Route 140 and Schilling Road.
According to the CHP, the man was hit by a vehicle at the Merced County intersection.
The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital. His name and current condition were not disclosed.
The involved driver fled the scene after the accident. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a white truck with its passenger side mirror missing and was last seen traveling eastbound on Highway 140 towards Mariposa.
Police are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
