Pedestrian Killed in Merced County Crash on Highway 99 near Atwater-Merced Expressway
Merced County, California (January 31, 2021) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by vehicles on Sunday morning in Merced County, authorities said.
The deadly pedestrian accident transpired at about 6:00 a.m. on Highway 99 near Atwater-Merced Expressway.
According to the officials, the pedestrian was trying to cross the highway in the southbound lanes when they were hit by a driver who could not avoid the collision.
Following the collision, the driver was reportedly struck by at least two other vehicles, including a big rig.

Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The involved drivers, who were not intoxicated, remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
The crash remains under investigation.
