Woman Seriously Injured in Menlo Park Pedestrian Accident in Nealon Park
Menlo Park, California (June 12, 2019) – A woman was critically injured in an alleged DUI crash in Menlo Park Friday night.
The crash was reported at approximately 10:30 p.m. June 7, along Nealon Park.
The accident happened when a 34-year-old Maurice Vasquez of Redwood City who was driving a stolen car tried to run over the woman on the roadway. The initial report indicated that Vasquez-Lopez was under the influence at the time of the collision. Vasquez-Lopez hit the woman, and when the police arrived, he tried to smash into a law enforcement vehicle that was trying to stop him from escaping.

The female party sustained significant injuries following the wreck. It was not clear whether or not the injured party was transported to the hospital after the crash.
The name of the victim has not yet been released to this time.
As per the report, Vasquez-Lopez was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, driving under the influence, hit and run from an injury collision, possession of the stolen property, and resisting arrest.
