75-Year-Old Man Killed in Menifee Pedestrian Accident at Rockport Road and Laguna Vista Drive
Menifee, California (July 30, 2020) – An elderly pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening at an intersection in Menifee, authorities said.
The fatal pedestrian crash happened at around 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, July 26 at the intersection of Rockport Road and Laguna Vista Drive.
Authorities said the pedestrian, a 75-year-old Menifee man, was walking northbound across the intersection inside a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 59-year-old Menifee man.
A Menifee Police Officer saw the accident and contacted the paramedics. The officer then began assessing the pedestrian’s injuries.
Pedestrian Killed in Traffic Collision in Menifee
Authorities said the pedestrian sustained severe head trauma and was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident.
The intersection was blocked for several hours due to the accident.
