48-Year-Old Man Killed in Mendocino Car Crash on Highway 1
Mendocino, California (May 25, 2019) – 48-year-old Man from Mendocino died and another injured in a fatal two-car accident in Mendocino Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at around 9:00 a.m. May 25, on Highway 1 just north of town near Jack Peters Bridge.
The accident happened when a 1991 Honda Civic driven by a 48-year-old man northbound on the highway was broadsided by a southbound 2002 Ford Infiniti driven by a 36-year-old man of Portland Oregon. The initial reports showed that the Honda was turning left in front of the Ford at the time of the accident.
The Honda driver was pronounced dead at the scene following the wreck. The Infiniti driver suffered minor injuries while his passenger identified as a 32-year-old woman from Portland was uninjured.
The identity of both the deceased and the injured party have not yet been released to this time.
The CHP is still investigating to identify why the fatal crash happened.
