Melviyon Drew Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on 23rd Street

Bakersfield, California (March 4, 2021) – The Kern County coroner’s office has identified 31-year-old Melviyon Antwian Drew as the victim who died after being struck by a vehicle in Bakersfield on January 26.
The deadly pedestrian crash took place in the 1300 block of 23rd Street, near a gas station, at about 6:55 p.m.
Drew was struck by a red Fiat while running on 23rd Street in the evening hours.
Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle stop after hitting the pedestrian and cooperated with the law enforcer.
Melviyon Drew Fatal Bakersfield Pedestrian Collision
Sadly, Drew died at Kern Medical three days later while undergoing treatment.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were considered to have played a role in the mishap.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
