Mecca, California (February 17, 2021) – At least one person was injured in a big rig accident on Tuesday morning in Mecca, authorities said.
The accident occurred at about 7:15 a.m., on February 16, on Highway 86 and Avenue 66.
According to the California Highway Patrol, two big rigs collided on the roadway in unclear circumstances.
Following the collision, a hazardous materials clean-up crew was summoned to the location to handle a spill of an unspecified substance.
At least one person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the accident.
