Meadowbrook, California (June 28, 2021) – A traffic collision involving two vehicles has claimed the life of one person and left another injured in Meadowbrook Monday afternoon, authorities said.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car crash occurred at around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 74 and Hammack Avenue, just east of Lake Elsinore.
For an unknown reason, a Chevrolet Volt collided with a Lexus sedan at the Meadowbrook intersection, the CHP said.

One of the drivers was declared dead at the scene by emergency responders. The name of the deceased victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The other driver was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar in unknown condition.
The crash prompted the officers to temporarily close the intersection of Highway 74 and Hammack Avenue while conducting an investigation.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
