San Jose, California (January 1, 2019) – San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo was injured after being struck by a car while riding a bicycle on Monday afternoon, December 31.
According to a local news source, the accident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Salt Lake Drive.
As per the report, Liccardo had been riding a bicycle in the area when he was struck by a vehicle.
The mayor sustained minor fractures and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He is expected to be OK.
The motorist reportedly stayed at the scene of the accident and cooperated with the authorities.
