North Fork, California (August 24, 2019) – A man was seriously injured in a motorcycle collision on Thursday evening in North Fork, according to the CHP.

The wreck happened at about 5:15 p.m. August 22, on Road 274 near Road 225.

CHP said Max Thurtle, 41, of North Fork, was driving a 2004 Yamaha YZF-600R motorcycle southbound on Road 274 when he collided with a 2001 Jeep Wrangler that was trying to make a U-turn.

The impact ejected Thurtle from the motorcycle.

Thurtle was flown to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment of major injuries.

The driver of the Jeep, Cameron Altimus, 21, of Oakhurst, was not injured.

The CHP is investigating the crash.
