Matthew Izzo ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Torrance Crash at Sepulveda and Kent Avenue

Torrance, California (May 1, 2019) – The motorcyclist who was killed Saturday morning in a traffic accident in Torrance has been identified as Matthew Izzo, 31, of Torrance, according to authorities.
The deadly accident, which was reported at around 9:35 a.m. Saturday, April 27, happened in the area of Sepulveda Boulevard and Kent Avenue.
Police said a 2016 Ford Fusion was exiting southbound from the service road of Sepulveda Boulevard across from the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and Kent Avenue. It then turned left and crossed the path of Izzo, who was riding westbound on Sepulveda Boulevard.
Izzo then crashed into the Ford Fusion.

Izzo was transported to a hospital and was later declared dead at the hospital. A 21-year-old Torrance woman, who was the driver of the Ford Fusion, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were considered factors in the crash.
The crash remained under investigation.
