Woman Killed in Martinez Pedestrian Accident on Pacheco Boulevard at Wygal Drive
Martinez, California (December 12, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking through lanes of traffic Thursday evening in Martinez, a local news source reported.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident happened at about 5:18 p.m. Thursday, December 10, on Pacheco Boulevard at Wygal Drive.
The pedestrian reportedly walked onto Pacheco Boulevard into the traffic lanes and was hit by a Chevrolet pickup truck that was heading eastbound on Pacheco Boulevard.
Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Truck in Martinez Thursday
The pedestrian, only identified as a 28-year-old Martinez woman, was declared dead at the scene. Her name was withheld pending notification of family.
The female driver of the truck was not injured and stopped at the scene to cooperate with the police. The driver told the authorities that she saw the pedestrian but was unable to avoid the collision.
