Martinez, California (April 16, 2019) – Two CHP officers were hurt after a traffic collision early Sunday morning in the area of Martinez, according to a local news source.

The crash happened a while before 5 a.m. Sunday, April 14, on 680 Freeway near Pacheco Boulevard.

As per the report, a southbound patrol car was rear-ended by 22-year-old suspected drunk driver also traveling south.

Firefighters along with paramedics responded to the scene and attended to two CHP officers who suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision. The two were transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

Officials later arrested the man driving the civilian car on suspicion of driving under the influence. The name of the DUI suspect remained unknown.
