Martinez, California (March 19, 2021) – A Thursday evening traffic collision on Highway 4 in Martinez left one person with serious injuries, the California Highway Patrol said.

Authorities received reports of the accident at about 6:10 p.m. in the eastbound lanes, just east of Mc Ewen Road on-ramp.

Two vehicles of unknown make and model were involved in the accident.

One of the drivers said she hit her head.

Emergency crews responded to the scene to find one person with major injuries, including a possible broken left wrist. The patient transported themselves to the hospital for treatment.

The report did not mention the cause of the crash, but authorities are investigating.
