Martin Barajas Seriously Injured in Sonoma Car Accident on Highway 12 near Watmaugh Road

Sonoma, California (January 14, 2019) – A Sonoma man was seriously hurt in a head-on crash that also injured five other people on Sunday evening in Sonoma, according to the CHP.
The accident occurred on State Highway 12 near East Watmaugh Road at about 6:30 p.m. January 13.
As per the report, Ty Randol Caton, 48, was driving a 2016 Range Rover westbound on the highway when he crossed the double yellow lines and collided head-on with an eastbound 2013 Chevrolet Captiva SUV, driven by Martin Arias Barajas, 52.
Barajas and one of his passengers were both trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by the firefighters.
CHP said Barajas suffered serious injuries and was flown to Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville.
Caton was transported by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.
A passenger in the Chevrolet, Maria Celina Barajas, 45, was airlifted to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa. Three other passengers, Lucy Barrera, 52, Miriam Nolazzo, 18, and a 15-year-old girl, were transported to the Napa hospital with minor injuries.
CHP is working to determine the cause of the crash.
