Mark Evans ID’d as Man Killed in Morro Bay Crash on Morro Bay Boulevard at Bernardo Avenue
Morro Bay, California (July 16, 2021) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a commercial garbage truck in Morro Bay on Thursday afternoon has been identified as Mark Richard Evans, 69, according to the authorities.
The crash happened just after noon July 15 on Morro Bay Boulevard at Bernardo Avenue.
Police said Evans was crossing the street when he was struck by the Mission County Disposal Truck .
Evans was dragged by the truck for several blocks and came to a rest at the roundabout on Morro Bay Boulevard near Quintana Road.
Mark Evans Killed in Morro Bay Pedestrian Crash
Authorities said Evans was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The Morro Bay Police Department is investigating the accident.
