Rider Critically Injured in Marin County Traffic Accident on Westbound 580 Freeway

Marin County, California (May 1, 2019) – A motorcyclist sustained significant injuries in a traffic collision that involved a truck in Marin County Wednesday evening.
The motorcycle accident, which was reported at around 6:08 p.m. May 1, occurred along the Interstate 580 Freeway, near Main Street.
The accident involved a motorcycle and a white utility pickup truck, according to the California Highway Patrol. Due to the impact of the collision, the rider was thrown down on the right-hand shoulder of the freeway. The manner in which the accident occurred is still under investigation.
The motorbike operator sustained significant injuries following the wreck. The paramedics offered the patient first aid treatment before being taken to the hospital for further medication and evaluation. The identity of the injured party has not yet been released to this time.
The CHP did not mention whether or not the motorist of the involved truck stopped after the collision and cooperated with the authorities.
The crash resulted in the closure of all the lanes but reopened shortly before 7:00 p.m.
The authorities are still investigating the leading cause of the accident.
