Santa Rosa DUI 2-Vehicle Accident at Cleveland and Ridgeway Avenues Injures Police Officer
Santa Rosa, California (August 14, 2020) – A police officer was injured following an alleged DUI traffic collision that occurred Thursday night in Santa Rosa, a local news source reported.
The two-vehicle accident was reported at about 9:00 p.m., August 13, at the intersection of Cleveland and Ridgeway avenues.
As per the dispatch, a white Hyundai Accent operated by 39-year-old Maria Lopez slammed into the patrol officer’s vehicle for undetermined reasons.
The police was reportedly assisting with traffic control at the scene of a fire prior to the collision.
Injuries Reported After Santa Rosa DUI 2-Vehicle Accident
Meanwhile, the officer was hospitalized with minor injuries after the wreck.
Lopez was later arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
