38-Year-Old Maria Leon Among 3 Injured in Merced Car Crash on Highway 140
Merced, California (June 9, 2019) – 38-year-old Maria Leon of Merced was among three people hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision that occurred in Merced County on Saturday afternoon, according to the CHP.
The wreck happened at about 12:35 p.m. June 8, on Highway 140 near Quinley Avenue.
CHP said a Toyota 2008 RAV4 was traveling westbound on Highway 140 when the driver tried to make a left turn into a private driveway and collided with an eastbound 2005 Chevy Astro van.
Maria Leon Hospitalized after Merced Car Collision
Leon was the driver of the van and was transported by ambulance to Merced Medical Center in Merced while her passenger was taken to a Modesto hospital. Both sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The second driver sustained moderate injuries and was flown to a hospital for treatment.
CHP said alcohol and drugs did not appear to have played a role.
The wreck is under investigation.
