Marc Cain Rodriguez Wanted in Crash That Killed Clovis Woman in Fresno

Fresno, California (May 17, 2021) – Marc Cain Rodriguez is wanted by the authorities after a police pursuit ended in a traffic accident that killed a Clovis woman Wednesday afternoon in Downtown Fresno.

The incident began at about 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at the intersection of Calaveras Street and N Street when a California Highway Patrol officer attempted to pull over a wanted gang member for weapons violation charges in the Chinatown area.

Authorities said the suspect initially stopped but then sped off as the officers approached. He then threw a loaded AR-15 out the window near the Fresno County District Attorney’s office.

While fleeing, the suspect’s car, described as a black Ford Fusion, collided with a black BMW sedan driven by Hannah Pimentel, 19, of Clovis.

Deadly Car Accident at Calaveras and N Streets in Fresno

Pimentel was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a student at Fresno City College.

The suspect fled the area, heading northbound.

Authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of Rodriguez on charges of murder and illegal possession of an assault rifle.

The accident remains under investigation.
