Man, Woman Killed in Gasquet Motorcycle Accident on Highway 199
70-Year-Old Man, 71-Year-Old Woman Killed in Gasquet Motorcycle Crash on Highway 199 near Little Jones Creek Road

Gasquet, California (July 23, 2019) – A man and woman were killed when their motorcycle collided with a vehicle Friday afternoon in Gasquet, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The fatal crash happened at about 1:20 p.m. Friday, July 19 on Highway 199, just north of Little Jones Creek Road.
According to the CHP, a 2002 Honda Goldwig motorcycle and a 2010 Ford F-150 pulling a trailer were both traveling southbound approaching Little Jones Creek Road when the motorcycle pulled over to the right shoulder.
The Ford, which had been traveling behind the motorcycle, started to pass to the left when the bike reportedly tipped over into the southbound lane. The Ford then struck the vehicle.
The driver and the passenger on the bike were ejected upon the impact. The trailer then struck both people.
Fatal Car Accident on Highway 199 in Gasquet
The motorcyclist, a 70-year-old man, and his passenger, a 71-year-old female, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been disclosed pending notification of family.
The driver of the F-150 was unhurt.
The highway was shut down for around 35 minutes as authorities investigated.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered factors in the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
