Kings County, California (November 12, 2020) – A man was killed Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle collision in Kings County, the California Highway Patrol reported.

At about 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, emergency personnel responded to the area of Highway 41 and Quebec Avenue for a report of a traffic accident.

According to the CHP, a 26-year-old man was driving a truck northbound on Highway 41 when, for unknown reasons, he allowed the truck to drift into the opposite lane and crashed into the guard rail.

The truck then veered off the roadway and rolled over into a canal.

As the truck overturned, the driver was ejected and died at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of family.

A tow truck was dispatched to the scene to pull the vehicle from the water.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
