Fresno, California (October 16, 202) – A man died after being struck by a car in Fresno on Thursday night, according to a local news source.

The fatal pedestrian accident happened at about on northbound Highway 99 south of Woollomes Avenue, shortly before midnight.

The pedestrian was reportedly helping a stranded motorist when he was struck by a Mazda CX-5 driven by 48-year-old Grant August Miller, of Fresno.

The pedestrian, identified only as a 22-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Miller was arrested on DUI charges.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
