Livingston, California (May 3, 2021) – One person was killed in a car crash that occurred on Sunday morning near Livingston in Merced County.
The fatal collision happened at about 12:42 a.m. in the area of Olive Avenue and Cressey Way, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A man was driving a 2013 Honda Civic northbound on Olive Avenue when he drifted across the double yellow line for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a southbound 2021 Peterbilt truck driven by 57-year-old Gonzalo Anaya.

The Honda is reported to have burst into flames after the crash.
The unidentified driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cal Fire/Merced County Fire Department officers who responded to the incident.
Anaya was unhurt.
Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the collision.
