Man Killed in DUI Crash at Pershing and Middlefield Avenues in Stockton

Stockton, California (January 2, 2021) – A man was killed on New Year’s Eve in an alleged DUI crash in central Stockton, according to a local news source.

The deadly crash happened at around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, December 31, in the area of Pershing and Middlefield avenues.

As per the report, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Pershing and Middlefield avenues for unknown reasons. Emergency crews responded to the scene and found a passenger in one of the vehicles unresponsive.

Deadly Crash at Pershing and Middlefield Avenues in Stockton

Authorities said one of the drivers, a 65-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the other vehicle, Quinton Hopkins, 34, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities later determined that he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.

Hopkins was ultimately arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The accident remains under investigation.
